Tomorrow we will start an adventure that gets me very excited. Embarking on a photo expedition in the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador is like stepping into an Indiana Jones movie. Navigating the Napo River and paddling on canoes through the lush greenery and listen to the sounds of the jungle, all that just to arrive to our beautiful home base in the jungle, La Selva Eco Lodge, adds an extra element of excitement and adventure to the trip.
Experiencing the raw nature of the Rain Forest, an ecosystem that’s has been here for more than 55 million years and is home to half of all the living animal and plant species on the planet, it’s very humbling. Our senses will be stimulated in every possible way. The vibrant colors of the flora and fauna, the symphony of bird calls, the earthy scent of the forest after the rain or the gentle breeze on your skin will create an immersive experience that will stay with you forever.
The Yasuni National Park, located in the heart of the Amazon, and the heart of our trip, offers a unique opportunity to explore the diverse flora and fauna of the region. From colorful macaws and playful monkeys to elusive jaguars, (who knows if we are lucky we may see one) and giant anacondas, the wildlife encounters are truly unforgettable. The dense vegetation and towering trees create a mystical atmosphere, making you feel like you're in a hidden world waiting to be discovered
Let’s not forget that we will meet one of the indigenous communities, the Kichwa, a tribe that has a deep connection with the rain forest and will provide really valuable insights into its relationship with nature.
So grab your camera, pack your sense of wonder, and get ready for an incredible journey through the heart of the Amazon rainforest.
